Juanita Alline Wilks

Juanita Alline Wilks, 82, of Clarkston, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2004.
Mrs. Wilks was born February 20, 1922 in Hurst Bush, Illinois, the daughter of the late Alfonzo Brocket Barnett and Edna Bertie Foster Barnett Shaw.  She married Ralph Meade Wilks and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Peggy Joyce Mellon (Dale) and JoAnn Parent (Bryan); grandchildren, Jason, Adrianna and Bryan Parent II and Jolaina Main; great-grandchildren, Kaela, Andrea, Mark  and Carla Mellon, Bryan III, Marissa and Lauren Parent and Gracelyn and Carson Main; brothers and sisters, Mae Hartsock (James), Leeburn Shaw (Norma), Rosemary Wardell (Duane), Willard Barnett and Rudolph Barnett; many nieces and nephews and Madeline and Darrell Stewart and their son, Darren.
Mrs. Wilks was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Lillian Halstead and granddaughter, Gina Mellon.
Mrs. Wilks served as an Eastern Star flag bearer during WWII and sewed cancer pads for the American Cancer Society for 30 years.  Her life revolved around the Apostolic Church where she was a member since 1952.  She was a member of the Missionary Sisters for many years and served as a Sunday  School teacher for 30 years.  
A celebration of Juanitas life was held Friday, November 5, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Apostolic Church, 1410 University Dr., Pontiac, Mich., with Bishop William D. Parent and Bishop Roland D. Baker officiating.  Interment followed at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery.
The family received friends at the church Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m.
The family would like to thank the staff at William Beaumont Hospice for their loving care and kindness.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Church Building Fund or William Beaumont Hospice.
